Chuncheon in Gangwon-do is known for two local foods: dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) and makguksu (buckwheat noodles). From October 14 to October 18, 2026, the Chuncheon Makguksu & Dakgalbi Festival (춘천막국수닭갈비축제) brings both together along a streamside in Onui-dong. Entry is free.

The Chuncheon Makguksu & Dakgalbi Festival celebrates dakgalbi and makguksu, two of the most famous specialties of Chuncheon. It is organized by the Chuncheon Makguksu & Dakgalbi Festival Organizing Committee.

Mid-October in Chuncheon is usually pleasant during the day, but mornings and evenings can get pretty chilly, with temperatures dropping to around 6–9°C.
